I know it's been a while since my last post, which just goes to show you the difficulty it is to maintain a disciplined reflection process. Over the summer I was able to explore a completely different culture in Costa Rica with the Teaching Fellows program. My full account of this experience was published in Technician's Viewpoint section in my guest column as Managing Editor, Discovering pura vida. The bottom line of this whole experience was how our different cultures value education. As a future educator my job if to prepare my students for life outside the classroom (this includes the local and global communities). By being able to understand my local community and its similarities and difference to various global communities I can achieve this goal and provide my students with my first-hand experience. This experience was both eye-opening and influential on how I will teach my future students.
Looks great! I think this can surely count as a signature for global knowledge...
